Discovery Green is a world-class urban park located in downtown Houston. With 12-acres of green lawns and gardens, a pond, children's playground, fountains, amphitheater and destination restaurant, Discovery Green truly has something for everyone.

We host 400+ free events, per year drawing thousands of Houstonians and visitors to the city for films, concerts, exercise classes, painting in the park, and much more.

The park is managed by the non-profit Discovery Green Conservancy. Each year, the Conservancy must raise $1.5 million to maintain and operate thepark. The ability to provide quality programming at no cost to the public is a true gift to the city.

The Ice at Discovery Green is produced by Ice Rink Events, a Houston company that has grown over 15 years to be the leading designer, manufacturer, installer, and operator of seasonal ice skating rink facilities worldwide. Founded by Mike Clayton, whose family started skating at the old Winterland rink on Kirby in the late 1960s, the Houston-booster has created hundreds of iconic city-center landmark rinks.
